The Beverly Hills Hotel, that famous luxury icon on Sunset Drive, has opened two new Presidential Bungalows nestled within their 12 acres of landscaped banana leaves, palm trees, and gardens, The hotel boasts that they are the largest suites in the LA area, offering guests nearly 5,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor living space.
Each Bungalow includes a private entrance, a great room, dining room, living room, professional-level kitchen, and up to four bedrooms. The bedrooms feature baths with free-standing tubs and steam showers. Each bungalow has limestone fireplaces. Some of the more exclusive bungalows have grand pianos, and private plunge pools. The custom-designed furnishings include pieces from the 1920s through today offering guests that timeless Hollywood hospitality and glamour.
The bungalows are surrounded by gardens and outdoor living space that includes a private pool, fireplace, lighted outdoor dining area, entertainment systems, exercise areas, courtyards, and private outdoor showers. This is luxury outside as well as in.
As, since this is Hollywood (or practically) after all, some of the bungalows have some interesting history. Marilyn Monroe stayed here. So did Marlene Dietrich. And so did Elizabeth Taylor – on her honeymoon – with six of her eight husbands.
Location: 9641 Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills
Rates: This kind of luxury doesn’t come cheap. I checked a variety of dates, and the basic bungalow comes in well over $3,000/night.
